Thanks to local Victoria business support and special donations from John and Mary Horton, Tony Grove, Rhian McKee, and the Maritime Museum of BC’s Board of Directors, the annual Boaters’ Silent Auction at the Classic Boat Festival was a hit!
Held before the Awards Banquet at the Hotel Grand Pacific, boaters pored over adventure packages, spa experiences, restaurant gift certificates, wine pairings, and wonderful maritime art prints.
Highlights included the chance to bid on Workboats for the World: the Robert Allan Story by the Festival’s Honorary Commodore Robert G. Allan; a special edition and “priceless” in value Yacht Dogs t-shirt; and, a recipe box for the famous Pimm’s Cups served by Rhian McKee at the Welcome Reception on Friday.
Boaters generously supported the Maritime Museum of BC’s programs, exhibits, and collections care by bidding on these lots, raising $2,600.
Our local business supporters are a key part of continuing the work of witnessing and preserving our maritime heritages on the coast.
